Canon EOS 1D X UK Prices

What a treat for the first CameraPricer blog post: The new flagship professional Canon digital SLR, the EOS 1D X, has been announced and it’ll be available from March 2012. The initial EOS 1D-X price in the UK is currently set at £5,299 and you can pre-order already at Warehouse Express and Jessops.

Canon EOS 1D X Pro Digital SLR

The new Canon EOS 1D X Digital SLR

The Canon EOS 1DX has a mouth-watering spec, I’m sure you’ll agree:

  • Full-frame 18.1 megapixel CMOS sensor
  • 12 frames per second burst rate
  • Extended to 14fps in High speed mode
  • 61 point autofocus (41 cross-type sensors)
  • 100 to 51,200 ISO range (expandable up to ISO 204,800)
  • Full HD 1080p video capture at 30fps
  • Dual DIGIC 5+ image processors
  • 3.2” LCD screen with 1,040k-dots
  • Gigabyte Ethernet connectivity (handy!)

It certainly is unusual to see a camera announced so early before the actual launch date, but this might be Canon stealing the march on Nikon who are rumoured to be announcing a D800 shortly (although the EOS 1D X is clearly competing with an as-yet imaginary D4).
